This is a Privacy Notice of Elliotts School, and a public document available to anyone and applies to all customers of Elliotts School of Motoring, to explain how the organisation collects and processes personal information in order to conduct its normal business activities as a driving school.

We currently operate and manage numerous franchisees across Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derby, and Derbyshire

proof of your identity/photo ID/ driving license (provisional or full).
National Insurance number (employment)
Banking details if you pay for service by Direct Debit.
Debit or Credit Card details if you pay by any payment by debit or credit card

Information for the safeguarding of staff.
We collect information about you when you
To request any of our services, customer surveys are done voluntarily; you are giving us feedback or make a complaint;
Make an application for driving lessons, through our web form, over the telephone, or when you visit our office;
Make an application for employment and become a paid member of staff;
Make an application for volunteering and become an unpaid member of staff;
Make an application for becoming part of our company such as a franchise/Driving Instructor
Make an application for becoming part of our company such as a training driving Instructor
We also process personal information collected via our CCTV systems on board the instructor’s car, and we monitor and collect visual images for security reasons, such as for the prevention and detection of crime, staff safety, and monitoring purposes. All telephone calls made to our office may be recorded and are used to support staff development and improve the services that we provide to you. We may receive information about you from other agencies such as DVLA, the Local Authority, the Police, or the National Health Service.
The way in which information about you is used
We use your personal information to
Enable us to provide you with driving lessons and communicate with you and meet your needs.
So to ensure that we meet all our legal and statutory duties, such as those which apply under the Equality Act 2010. Help us with crime prevention and the prosecution of offenders and protect individuals from harm. Provide you with appropriate support. Assess your suitability for a job vacancy or assess your suitability to become a member of our organisation, as a franchisee, or driving trainee driving instructor
Sharing your information
We only share your personal information with the instructor that is assigned to you
Where this is necessary, we are required to comply with all aspects of (the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Transferring information overseas
We do not transfer any personal information outside the EEA
How long do we store information
Any information we collect is stored until you have passed your test or haven’t been having lessons for approximately a year, or when you advise us that you are no longer interested in doing lessons. When you pay by debit or credit card, we process your information directly to the terminal and the merchant receipt is kept until the payment is confirmed within the company account.
Your rights to access data
Any requests for information must be made in writing and include proof of your identity.
If we consider that your request is unfounded, asking for too much information, or it is the information we have previously provided, then we may charge a reasonable fee for this, or we may refuse to respond to you. If we refuse to respond to your request, we will advise you of our reason within one month after your request. You have the right to appeal to the Information Commissioner s Office or to seek a judicial remedy. You have the right to withdraw consent for the use of your information at any time; however, this may affect the service that we are able to provide you
We need to have access to the information you provide in respect of any driving or employment or franchise application
If you believe that the information we hold on you is incorrect, then you should notify us, and we will arrange to have the information corrected within one month of you telling us. We will also inform anyone else that we have provided this information. You also have an additional right to have a copy of any information that you have provided to us to use elsewhere.
